The fourth style of Mercedes-Benz O305 bus, the MkIV, commenced service in 1983. They represent a further advancement in body styling and features, and have a distinctly "squarer" appearance than earlier models.

Many of the MkIV buses have recently been refurbished, receiving new flooring, and a repaint of the interior and exterior of the vehicle.
